2016 Grande Reserve Red, Ixsir, Lebanon

A truly magnificent wine from the Batroun Valley in Lebanon. 

As is typical, this is a big mega blend of mainly classical varietals Syrah 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 39%, and the indigenous Arinarnoa 11%.

Forthright, perfumed red, exuberant with dark fruit and spice, pulsating with blackberry and black plum.

Manual night harvests in crates of 18kg and transport to the ultra sleek hi-tech winery in Basbina in temperature-controlled trucks. Gentle crushing and de-stalking. Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. French oak for 12 months, 60% new and 40% used.
