2017 Barbaresco DOCG Vigna Gallina, La Spinetta
In the early 1800s the grandfather Giuseppe Rivetti, whose nickname was Pin, emigrated to Argentina from Neive. Once he returned in Piedmont he founded the family winery and brought his children up in Castagnole Lanze to be dedicated and expert winegrowers.
Harvesting takes place from the beginning of Octoberr. Maceration and fermentation lasts 7-8 days in temperature controlled horizontal fermentation tanks. Malolactic fermentation and the refining process take place in new French barriques, for approximately 20-22 months. Fining and filtration is not carried out. The wine is then released 3 months later, once it has settled in the bottle.
Deep - yet transparent - red. Fantastically concentrated fruit and savoury aromas: rose hip, cider apple, roasted chestnut, leather, woodsmoke, fenugreek, curry plant and just a hint of the tar character, for which Nebbiolo is well-known.
